We’re recruiting a community gardener

Social Landscapes has been awarded funding by the Mayor of London’s Green Roots Fund to continue our longstanding work with the amazing community at Roupell Park Estate in Lambeth. This support will enable us to co-design a climate resilience plan for the whole estate, building on our previous collaboration and community gardening projects.

We are seeking a Community Gardener with strong ecological and permaculture-informed values and skills to support the next phase of Roupell Park’s transformation into a biodiverse, climate-resilient and community-led estate. The funding for the role is provided with support from The Mayor of London as part of our 18 month project to co-create an estate-wide greening plan with residents. The role combines practical gardening with community engagement and places residents at the centre of shaping and caring for their shared green spaces.

The gardener will help steward and implement key elements of the estate-wide permaculture design, including food growing areas, rain gardens, water harvesting and nature-friendly planting. Regular working hours will help create continuity and allow the role to grow as the project develops.
