Meeting the Landscape - Module 2 of the Online Permaculture Design Course

  • Online London United Kingdom (map)

This course is module 2 of the full Online Permaculture Design Course that we offer. It can also be taken in isolation as long as you have completed an Introduction to Permaculture Course (online or in-person).

The course covers many aspects of the essential permaculture skill of surveying our land, environment and the people we work with and for.

A brief history of agriculture and an overview of ecological principles and ecosystem function help us put the permaculture approach into context. This is followed by an outline and exploration of Yeoman’s scales of permanence serving as an approach and checklist to our comprehensive survey and as an entry to a pattern to detail approach to design.

We will learn the basics of creating maps and overlays for our projects which are essential for recording the information that we gather. Finally we explore the client interview and approaches to inclusive community consultations.

Dates and times are: Saturday November 27th, 10 am to 12.30 pm and 4.30 pm to 7.00 pm UK times.
